Sadly, there are many who approach God in a non-relational manner; they see the Word of God as more of a contract than the wisdom of a loving Father. When we remove the relational aspect of God from the interpretation of God’s Word it will always become legalistic or mystical. Legalism believes special promises are made to certain people based on their performance… NOT TRUE!
A father can only teach and direct the child that is teachable and engaged! It’s not different with God. One of the things the Bible has portrayed since the beginning is the free will of mankind. God does not force Himself or His wisdom on us, but it is available to all who want it. When we abide in Jesus and He and His Word abide in us, we are spending time together in His Word and in prayer. Our heart is open for His direction in every situation.
So, what the carnal mind would call a special promise to a certain group is actually a promise to all and the process whereby that promise will be fulfilled.
