God is a heart God; all He does in our lives He will do through the beliefs of our heart. His Word is not magic. Just because we quote it doesn’t mean we believe it in our heart. The truth is we can identify what we believe by what we do. We do what we believe will get us the result we desire. That’s how we know when we are in dead faith… it does not bear fruit that corresponds to the belief we claim to hold!
Proverbs 4:20-22 tells us not to let the Word depart from our eyes. That word for “eyes” is not merely reading them. It has to do with looking, beholding until there is perception and understanding that leads to obedience. By doing so we can keep them in our heart where they become the guardian.
Our heart determines the boundaries in our life. The more our heart is influenced by God’s Word the more we enlarge our boundaries.
