One of Jesus’ missions on Planet Earth was to show us exactly what a human could do and be if they trusted God and yielded to the Holy Spirit. That’s why He said, He that believes on me the works that I do shall He do also, and greater than these. (John 14:12)
The only way we can believe that promise Jesus made is to believe what the Bible teaches: He emptied Himself and became a man in every way, except without sin. When I see the Son of God functioning as a man filled with the Holy Spirit I see what I will look like as a man filled with the Holy Spirit.
In 1 John 4:2-3, the Apostle John said, Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist… It doesn’t get any clearer than this!
