Many good people fall & are destroyed or just can’t get their faith to work. They have good information, but haven’t used that information to build a foundation of righteousness. Sometimes, they’re just trying to use faith to get their needs met, not really seeking God or trying to harmonize their lives with His. Unless we’re committed to righteousness, we can never follow the path He’s trying to lead us on to meet all of our needs.
Righteousness is the stability of Planet Earth—the stability of our physical life, our moral & emotional world. Everything going wrong in the world today is a result of man’s departure from righteousness, whether done intentionally or through ignorance. When Adam departed from God’s righteousness, the entire world went out of harmony, & the emotional, spiritual, moral, & ethical foundations were affected. The logos (wisdom) of God created all the things to work & remain stable by building them upon the foundation of righteousness.
Everything you want to be according to what God has promised—your physical, emotional, relational health—happens only when your motive & reason for doing it is in harmony with who God is & what He teaches about righteousness. Don’t go to the place of works-righteousness (legalism & performance); this is about your heart. Faith-righteousness works by love, because we trust in the goodness of God & are willing to apply His logos to our lives.
