All it takes to open our heart to seeing things from God’s perspective is to surrender our opinions, i.e., humble ourselves and do what God does: love those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who use you.A revelation is something that occurs when one sees what he/she previously did not see. Religion would have you believe that revelation comes because God decides to show you what He has kept hidden; but the truth is, revelation comes when we are willing to see.

We are afraid to see what we do not see. According to the teachings of Jesus, we fear that should we see something differently we would have to change. The need for change indicates that we are wrong and our ego, that part of ourselves that resists God’s view and opinion, never wants to be wrong. So, we want our circumstance to change but we don’t want to give up our opinion. We want our tormenting anger towards someone to go away but we don’t want to forgive. We want peace in our life but we don’t want to be the peacemaker. We want to get over an offense but we don’t want to walk in love.

All it takes to open our heart to seeing things from God’s perspective is to surrender our opinions, i.e., humble ourselves and do what God does: love those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who use you. The moment we let go of our opinion about how to do anything independently of God’s Word applied in love we have now removed the only barrier that can keep us from seeing God’s solution.
