Jesus didn’t view the sinner as a disease-ridden being, too unclean to touch. No! It was just the opposite! He had compassion for them. He knew they were trapped in a world by double bondage of sin and religion, and one is as deadly as the other. One inflates the destruction of the other!

An essential part of personal growth occurs as we involve ourselves in personal ministry. We can’t minister to the world while trying to avoid and condemn them. We must know how to be in this world but not of this world. We must know how to love the world but not love its ways.

The saying goes that when a person is down, the one thing they need is a friend. Jesus was the friend of sinners. He had compassion for their pain, and through His friendship and acceptance, He opened the doorway to personal ministry.
