Don’t be discouraged. Few people have ever realized there is a Covenant of Peace. Just like the Israelites before us, the ignorance of the covenant is a primary reason believers struggle. God reconciled the world to Himself through the Lord Jesus. Jesus became a man. Man brought sin into the world and only a man could take sin out of the world. He literally became our sin. Then He paid every aspect of the price we would have to pay if we stood before God without His sacrifice. He trusted God and was ultimately raised from the dead and received an inheritance. God then made a covenant with Him: the Covenant of Peace.
Isaiah says it like this, For a mere moment I have forsaken you, But with great mercies I will gather you. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you, Says the Lord, your Redeemer. For this is like the waters of Noah to Me; For as I have sworn That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth, So have I sworn That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you. For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.
Those who believe on Him are baptized into Him and become participants in the Covenant of Peace. Because we are in Him we are delivered from the curse, have access to all the promises and are made righteous. The Covenant of Peace is the basis for the Gospel of Peace, all of which are the root of a heart filled with peace.
