quote-for-blog-102016The Psalmist had the same problem. He prayed, When I consider the heavens, i.e. all the glory of creation, what is man that you are mindful of Him? One of the hardest things to ever grasp is the fact that God, the Creator of all things is all that concerned about us.

He goes on to say, you created us just a little lower than the angels. That word for “angels” is the Hebrew word for the Godhead. Man is not, nor has he ever been, lower than the angels. We (not them) were created in the likeness and image of God. This is the starting place of faith: realizing who we are to the Creator, God! Understanding who God created us to be and our position in the hierarchy of all things will resolve some of man’s deepest fears.

God is love and for love to be perfected it must be given to someone who has the capacity to receive it and pass it on. God’s love moved Him to create us in His likeness and image with the capacity not given to any other species in all of creation: we have the ability to give and receive God’s love.

He didn’t create us as slaves, but as sons and heirs. We don’t work to prove our value. Our value is proven in the price God paid for our salvation!

The world is in the midst of a morality crisis simply because we are also in the midst of an identity crisis. We don’t know who we are, why we’re here or who we are to God.
