The biggest waste of time for a believer is fighting with the devil! I know that flies in the face of all kinds of religious activity. But the Apostle Paul tells us that Satan has been stripped of power and authority (Colossians 2:15). In Ephesians Paul says that at the resurrection Jesus was raised up above all principality and power and put them all under His feet (Ephesians 1:21-22). Then he points out that as His body, all principality and power is also under our feet.
Refusal to accept the victory Jesus won through the death, burial and resurrection has led to all manner of religious activity that is at odds with the truth. Spiritual warfare in the New Testament is simply dealing with our thoughts and beliefs. Anything else is just ”shadow boxing.” It’s beating the air in a struggle with an imaginary opponent.
Take your attention off the devil and put all of your efforts into knowing and believing what Jesus accomplished at the cross. JOIN ME this week and peel another layer off the religious onion that has hidden the truth from so many as we continue to explore the finished work of Jesus!
