When you know God’s character you know that He is working to deliver long before we ask.Moses is a perfect example of someone who faced continual obstacles but always prevailed. He was sent to represent a God that He really didn’t know. The people didn’t know anything about Moses, nor have any reason to trust him. Then he had to face the wrath of the most powerful political figure in the world. The list of conflict never ends. Several times the people wanted to abandon or assassinate him. Add to that the journey through the wilderness and the demands of governing this massive number of people.

The children of Israel saw the same miracles Moses saw; yet, they were discouraged at every point. Dennis Prager, author of The Rational Bible, describes the people’s reaction to God as not based on a long history of delivering and protecting them. It was more an attitude of, “what have you done for me lately?”. People who think victory is getting one miracle after another always find themselves needing another miracle. They develop a codependent connection to God and deceive themselves into thinking this is living by faith!

Moses wanted to know God, not just experience His miracles. He didn’t want to live like a slave who looked to their master only when they needed something; He wanted a relationship with the Creator. People who understand God’s ways seldom waver when confronted with obstacles. When you know God’s character you know that He is working to deliver long before we ask. JOIN ME this week as we glean nuggets from Moses’ faith and wisdom.
