Since love is an issue of the heart, and the heart greatly affects our sense of identity, we have to consider the very real possibility that our sense of identity, or how we see ourselves, could be drastically affected by how those we love see us!
Whether you’re married, single, divorced, planning to get married, or a marriage counselor, Everything About Love will help you acquire tools and discover truths that make it possible for you to have a happy, healthy, life-giving relationship.
hi, just listened to ‘submission’ message. why is it these days that most preachers do not follow the scriptures because they must be afraid of the female vote? perhaps? the bible clearly teaches in places like 1Peter 3 how sarah was godly and obeyed abraham calling him lord and then instructs us to be like her etc. it seems that todays men and preachers have traded their pants for a skirt. sorry to be so blunt, dont have much space and time other than to just make this point. ‘as unto the Lord’ you cant get clearer that this. then Dr. Jim says we dont just obey the Lord out of obligation. what? I beg of you, please preach the word, in season and out. blessings. Joe
What does ‘the female vote’ have to do with anything? That is immaterial to a marriage relationship. And how can the female vote make preachers afraid to preach? In I Peter starting in chapter two, Peter is talking about us being a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and then he goes on to explain what that looks like in everyday life starting with submitting to human institutions, submitting and honoring one another. He states the fact that Christ is our example. It is interesting that Jesus said that we are no longer to call anyone ‘lord’ as He is our only Lord. But back to Sarah as an example, the key is the end of verse 6 – without being frightened by any fear. Then verse 7 ‘Husbands IN THE SAME AWAY live with your wives in understanding.’ Respect, honor, submitting to one another – that is ‘in the same way.’ Listen to the messages, they are always backed by scripture.
