God has never been opposed to man having knowledge. But God realized knowledge without wisdom is destructive. Knowledge tells us what to do, love tells us why we do what we do, but wisdom tells us how to do what we do so we reach our goal without destroying our soul!
Man pursued the tree of the knowledge of good and evil so he could make decisions independent of God’s wisdom. We’re like kids who want to eat candy all day and not get a stomachache or lose our teeth to decay. Wisdom, character, self-control tells us how to use knowledge and have a great outcome.
