Hello! I'm Jim Richards, founder of Impact Ministries and pastor of Impact CyberChurch. ICC grew out of the combination of our local church and our worldwide ministry. As I traveled the globe pioneering this incredible message of grace, peace, faith righteousness and unconditional love, I was repeatedly confronted with one question. "Where will I go to hear this message after you leave?"
It was tormenting! Based on Biblical principles, people are warned against mixing the leaven of the law with the New Covenant message of faith righteousness. People had great difficulty walking in the grace of God when they were getting "beaten up" and condemned every week!
I love Huntsville and I love our local church. The truth is, I just love people.
But I could never be satisfied unless I had a way to take this incredible message of God's love to the entire world. For years I sought a way to bring the Good News to people around the world on a regular basis. Our church has sponsored crusades, seminars, published books, a monthly magazine, a Bible College, conducted leadership training and dozens of other efforts to reach the world. But, the moment I heard about the Internet, I knew the solution was coming.
Impact CyberChurch has been the product of an evolution in my understanding of the call of God. Years of preparation came together with the right opportunity to make Impact CyberChurch available to you. In the early 70’s while preaching on the streets in Huntsville, God birthed a vision in my heart for a different kind of church. A church that would be fully committed to God and fully committed to serving people. It would be:
- Built on sound Biblical principles
- Relevant but not religious
- Fully committed to developing People
- A safe place for people who want to find God
- A world outreach center
- A place where people could be made whole
- A place where families could be restored and established
- A safe place for hurting people
- A place where people could always hear a good word
- A place totally free from law, dead religious works, fear and manipulation
- Peopel would always walk away feeling better about themselves and God
- A place of hope
In November 1984 that vision became a reality. Led by a godly passion and an unshakeable faith, a small group of people met in our living room and agreed to follow God’s calling. We wanted to start a different kind of church, a church fully committed to God and fully committed to serving God’s people. That hand full of people faithfully prayed, served and gave to make the dream a reality. Little did we know that it would lead to an online ministry that would include people from every corner of the globe! After all, we had never heard of a CyberChurch in 1984!
Those faithful believers shared my passion to
Change the way the world sees God! They have walked with me through every transition that has brought me to you! And I am here with an agenda... As the apostle Paul said,
The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith (1 Tim 1:5-6, NLT).
I know that when you are convinced of the unshakeable, unwavering, unconditional love God has for you, everything in your world will change. Your pain and sorrow will leave you, you will be free from codependent manipulation and control, you will have an incredible sense of self worth, your heart will find peace, and you will have the capacity to give and receive love! But most of all you will be at peace with God!
I’ve been involved in ministry since 1972. I got saved and went almost straight to the streets. I began winning the hippies and druggies to the Lord. I’ve seen God do great things in the lives of people beyond my wildest imagination. There’s no one God can’t help and there’s no one He doesn’t love. There is no limit to His power to work in your life. I’ve committed my life to helping people experience wholeness through the love of God. No matter what you’ve done. No matter where you’ve been. At anytime you desire to know God or come back to God, just stop running. Accept His love. Accept the fact that Jesus paid the price to set you free. Like my friend, Don Francisco, says in his song, "I don’t care where you’ve been sleeping. I don’t care who's made your bed. I already gave my life to set you free. There’s no sin you could imagine that is stronger than my love. It’s all yours if you’ll come home again to me."
